Had a little mishap in the woodshop thurs. night. After an ambulance ride and a trip through the ER I'm happy to say a full recovery is on its way.... 2 fingers and thumb dragged into the blade , unbelievable how lucky I am to have not lost anything, Working exhausted is never really a good idea, I had the wrong tear out plate on the saw which allowed my material to be sucked in, the piece shattered and tossed my hands back out, I'd say all in about 2/10's of a second....... Uploading from my phone where the pics are, I'd add more detail, but I'm typing with one thumb!!!! Can't figure out how to upload pics from my iPhone.....bummer

Maybe they should add your pics to that old black & white safety film we had to watch back in junior high wood shop. Sorry it happened, but glad it wasn't any worse... Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Like others have said, hope it heals quickly and glad it wasn't worse. That makes two pretty gnarly injuries on here...I hope we don't have a third.

A friend of mine got his finders/hand sucked into a snow blower. Mangled up his hand very bad and lost many fingers. It only takes one bad split second decision. Hope you get better soon, it could happen to any of us.

The inventor has done it with his own finger: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTUOhYcw4ZY

I own one of these saws and mentioned it earlier above. The owner and product are controversial as many shop owners don't like the idea of being forced to buy one, but personally I love mine.

Not to mention the '09 21v you get to use with all your fingers!!!! We're putting one in my dad's shop when its ready.....

Wow. You're so lucky that it wasn't worse. I had a similar thing happen last winter while working on my boat project and my finger is still a little stiff. Be sure to stay on top of physical therapy. Glad it wasn't any worse!
