Just ordered wheels for the trailer. I have 14x6 white spoke on now and they sometimes rub the inner fenders especially when turning. This is due to the fact that I "trimmed" my fenders to allow the boat to sit lower in the trailer. So I ordered 14x5.5 which I think will be just enough to give me the clearance I need and improve the looks at the same time. I ordered them online from trailerandtruckparts.com - $295 includes lug nuts and shipping. I thought that was an ok deal.

That's a very sharp wheel, and I'm sure your rubbing issue will be resolved with the smaller size. Seems like a real good deal too.

No Chris. The wheels are being delivered tomorrow. Then I have to decide whether to go with my old tires or new ones. The tires i have now are about 4 years old.

Four years is a little age, BUT you've been storing it inside, so they may have some life left in them.

Yeah, they're probably ok, but you know me!

I'll pay shipping on your old tires? They've got to better than the ones I've got! Hell.... ship me the wheels and tires if you want!

I'm going with a bias ply Carlisle tire. These have a more narrow section width than does the radial tire I have now. So going from a 6" to 5.5" wheel and from about a 8.3" to 7.8" section width on the bias- ply tire, I should easily gain the clearance I need.

My old white spokes with Titan radial tires are available.

Finally got some pics with the new wheels and tires installed. The inner fenders are removed right now so that I can get a good coat of wax on before my first trip out hopefully this weekend! These are kind of old school - just 10-hole aluminum mods with Carlisle bias-ply tires. Oh, and I have stainless bearing buddies that I have not installed yet, so the grease caps in the pic won't be there.

Looks awesome and matches the boat well. It wouldn't look right to put those newer X-Games styled rims on this trailer. Great job.

You mean like the shiny black ones that are going on mine? :D:D

I like the old bullet hole rims. They look great on the trailer Suggs.

Driveway looks great as well...is that new concrete or do you clean that as well? :D I spent yesterday working on my trailer as well, I am now running all LEDs and I got rid of about 3 feet of spliced wires at the tongue.

Hey guys, since Clint has shown us his blingy-ness.......:D

Can you help me pick some for mine? I can't decide. The ones I want are no longer in stock, anywhere. I don't think they make them anymore. So here are two I'm looking at. I like the flat black round hole because it looks clean and classic. But I also like the two toned to help make the trailer pop.

For reference, they would go on this.

Sorry Csuggs, I didn't want to start a new thread just to get opinions.

I think the flat black wouldn't go well with the gloss black of your Salty's gel, I'd go for the two tone.

Yeah, I think we're leaning more towards them as well. Same reasons. I just also don't want to look all "Flat biller".

Here is pretty much the flat black wheel you have picked out, not exact but close. Its the only pic I have handy access to.

I had the factory wheels powdercoated.

Yeah, I remember you black wheels, and that's actually an option for me. To powdercoat the ones I have. But you have red on your boat, and chrome fenders where all I have is black. That's where I can't decide.

Do you like the look of your all black wheels?

I've never been a fan of two tone personally. No real reason though.

I also have black wheels on the truck so it was an easy choice for me. I do like the all black. I like simple.

There was a place in California selling the factory wheel in black for around 40 shipped each last year. They ran out quick and I got tired of waiting on them to get more. I think I was just searching "black modular wheel"

I see what you are saying on the chrome fenders ... Hmmm, id still lean black I think.

White pinstripe on the trailer might break it up?

I like the first one. The second one looks like every other modern mag wheel. I think the first one looks awesome and looks like an upgrade within a consistent category of the age of the boat. To me, the first looks unique, and the second one looks common/uninspiring. But that's just my two cents.

Is a white wheel too crazy?? Of course, not mismatched like my pic but you get the idea

Here is a pic I have with my spare on ...

In fairness, the spare was purchased after the wheels were powdercoated. LOL

LOL, nope didn't say that! I'm not rolling with the spare on if that counts as resolved :)

I can't figure out the all black wheel craze. To me the all black looks like a factory wheel with the hubcap removed..... Now they are introducing black chrome too !!! If it was up to me I just paint a white wagon wheel black to get the same look.

I would try to match the colour and look of the rims on the tow vehicle.

My spare is a white spoke - tire and wheel are same dimensions as my new ones. The spare stays in the bed of the truck so I don't care that it's different

Btw Clint, your PM is full and won't accept any more messages.

Just took care of that. Thanks!
