2005 22 SSV with Indmar 340. We really just got into surfing last year and noticed that when the boat is weighted for surfing and we are idling back to pick up a rider, the engine RPM's will surge making it difficult to judge speed and distances. If the prop is not engaged, then it runs fine. While we are surfing it runs fine. Anyone else have this issue? Suggestions on what it might be and how to correct it?

Thanks,

Dave

Sounds like it might be perfect pass? I think that is where I would start.

Perfect pass is not engaged when I return to pick up a surfer. At least I don't think it is??? With it set to 10.3 mph could it think I am trying to engage? If this was not an EFI engine I would suspect a carb or float issue.

That was my thought. It may hesitate or jump like you were about to take off.
