For 2012 what's the difference in the 242 Launch and 242 Sunsport just the "PlayPen" and "walk thru"?? I've seen the 242 Sunsport at the Boat Show this past weekend. I plan to buy a 242 Launch. The sales people didn't seem to know much.

Generally speaking, Keith, when I have looked - those are the differences. Same basic hull, but not a playpan, and the walk thru. Time for a new boat? Wow -- I really do need to come visit "soon" ...

Don't the launches have a different stock ballast system too?

From my understanding launch essentially means wakeboard edition. Like the x series and maristar.

That's how it used to be anyways. However most sunsports are ordered with options.

Options that come to mind: gravity 3 ballast, wakeboard prop, z5, larger motor, full blown vision (smartplate)?, possible Audio package ... There used to be a cooler in place of rear bench seat.

I'm pretty sure the Launch comes with extra ballast due to the extra storage space in the play pen. 1700 is the number I believe with the Sunsport having a little less.

Keith,

I think the differences can be seen here (http://www.supraboats.com/compare/features.html) I just wish you could narrow it to only the 2 you want to compare.

Thanks Todd,
I was looking for the old style comparisons that were on the Supra web page but couldn't find them. I didn't look very well obviously.

Keith, it wasn't obvious -- I also expected to see a "compare" link. I also don't know that the link I provided is current,
or something I just stumbled into.

The "configure" tool is also sort of, well ... lame. Ever since Natalie went to Indmar, this site has suffered -- thinks me.
