Question for those with a 454

I just put my engine back in my Saltare, and I'm now questioning my memory of which raw water pump port you connect to the inlet hose. If you're looking at the front of the motor, does the inlet hose connect to the left or right port on the pump?

Titan, here is a picture of my motor with the hoses hooked up how they came out of my boat. it looks like the left port goes to the boat and the right port goes to the top of the engine.
