Just a dumb question what is the best to use a marine battery or a regular automotive

Definitely marine. I used to swear by Die Hard from Sears, but i think they have gone downhill. The last one i bought is a Duralast Marine from Autozone. I think it was about $60, and it has held up great. It is going on its 4th season. The Die Hards used to only last me 2 seasons.

I would buy an Optima Blue or Yellow top deep cycle battery if I was getting a new one. You can get the yellow top at most automotive stores. The Blue top is a bit tougher to get, but the yellow works fine!

You have my vote for the optima gelcell Blue or Yellow top. I have had good luck with those two batteries. They are worth the little extra that you pay.
