Best place to relocate gas vent on a comp

I am relocating my gas vent after loosing 20 gal of fuel because of what. Where should I move it? I was thinking of moving it on the top stripe on the cap . It currently is on top strip of the hull. Or anyone have any better ideas ?

1 way T valve that will fit on a inline hose will let the tank vent out but if water were to come in would hit the stop in the valve and then divert to a catch can ? thats what im gonna try and find lol
