May seem like a simple question,to prep for another year of boating I need to replace my bilge pump on my 87 Saltare, anyone have any suggestions? I saw SKIDIM's options, seem pretty cut and dry for a 500 GPM bilge. ANother question is pertaining to how it is fastened to the bottom of the boat, to be able to remove and replace it, thanks and happy boating!

I have 2 bilge pumps in my boat I have a 800 gph that is digitally controlled so I don't need the float switch and then I have a back up 500 gph from Wally world

Most of the bilge pumps have a plastic tray that they clip into. These can be epoxied or screwed directly to the floor in the bilge. I use an 800 with a float switch and a 500 on a manual switch.

500GPH is a tad low for my taste. I upgraded mine the first day I owned it to a 750GPH one and that is the smallest I would go on a comp. I would run a larger one because lets face it, you can never have too much capacity in a bilge pump.
