Any 1.23:1 guys running an Acme 422?

Anybody running the Acme 422 on their boat? I know most of you have 1:1 trans, but just curious if there were any 1.23:1 guys running that prop. It was what was recommended by JT at Nettles.

Good to know. I'll be putting one on my boat by early next week. I'll post up my thoughts.

I currently run an OJ Legend 14x14 or 14x16...it's kinda hard to read the #'s. What are you running mapleleaf?

schtigity schtocker...did I just type that? I'm gonna run out and check, but it's what came on the boat, pretty sure it's an OJ 803..1.6 cup 14?? its hard to read under the prop nut

Just got off the phone with Acme and they recommend the Acme 2160 for my set up. He said another option could be the Acme 654, but said with me mostly wakeboarding and surfing I'd probably like the 2160 the best. He also said the 2160 will jump out of the hole better, get better gas mileage, hold speed better, turn a few more rpm's, and reduce speed by probably 2 mph. Hope this helps anyone with a similar boat!

I'd still like to hear from anyone running the 422. The guy said that that prop would be okay as well for what I want to do, just not as good as the 2160.

I'm running the Acme 422 on my 89 Conbrio 351 1:23:1. When I got the boat it had an OJ 14X18 on it. The 422 improved my hole shot and my top speed (42-43 mph). The only problem I'm having is with WOT I fall short of my max rpms (I can't rmember those numbers). This doesn't bother me that much. I rarely run the boat at WOT, and in a way insures no one damages the motor by maxing it out beyond the recomended time frame.

P.S. I mainly waterski, tube and some wakeboarding. No problem with these disaplines using the 422.

Just looked at the specs on the 2160 and I like what I saw. I bought my 422 3-4 years ago and at the time they didn't have the 2160. If I had to do it all over again I would probably go with the 2160.

Thanks for your input! I bought the 422 since it was only $150 used + prop puller. I figured I could not pass that deal up! I would love to try the 2160, but at $400+ that is not something I'll be able to currently afford. For that kind of money, I'd save up $200 more and get perfect pass cruise!
