Anybody know or know where I can get the measurements for the 1x6's that support the doghouse? Mine were intact but completely rotted out on the ends. I prefer not to do guess work.

Good luck man, I re-did my whole interior last year and remember it taking me like three shots to get the base done properly. Compund angles were a major pain... Not sure how soon you need to tackle this project or need the info but, I think I have the measurements somewhere or I can also try and measure it but they might be off since it has been carpeted since then.

I just did mine with white oak

Sides are 33" with a 45 o angle
Rear 34"
Front angles are 9" long 37 o angle .

It's not that bad , just get ur tape and cut big so u can have room to play

It just "floats" in the boat on mine. It works out much better that way so you can get better access to the engine for various things.

I put a pair of jeep-style hood latches (like this: http://www.amazon.com/Catch-Vertical-Mount-Black-45-63/dp/B00390RNJE) on the front of mine, to secure it to the floor. that way when somebody leans on it, it doesn't get pushed back into the belts, but it's a matter of 2 seconds to take the whole thing off.

this isn't the best picture in the world, but I think you can see what I'm talking about.

I wasn't sure how well it would hold, but it works awesome. I used to constantly have to keep people from leaning on the doghouse, and I have some nice burn marks from the water pump belt hitting the inside of it when I didn't. Now I don't have to worry about it at all.

The top part of the doghouse still hinges open as normal. But with the latches, it's easy to take the whole thing off if I need to, which I usually do if I'm doing much work in there.

I used these quick release SS latches on the inside of the engine dept. That way I could pull the doghouse quickly for working on the engine and its locked down now so no sliding. They were pretty pricey but work great!

Mine is torn apart still. Not going back together until 2-3 more weeks. Hit me back later if you can remind me and I can post.
