Hey guys I need some help identifying what kind of drive shaft seal I have.
I have searched everywhere and I cannot seem to find what I need.
My seal is simply a rubber boot with 2 hose claps. One clamp to the boat and one to a brass collar that has a grease fitting on it.
I am leaking a large amount of water from that brass collar. I noticed a o-ring that I was able to push back in while parked an eliminated the leak so I wouldn't flood the boat, but as soon as my shaft starts spinning water pours in.
Any suggestions. I will get pics up later.

Thanks,

Bryan

You have a Lasdrop shaft seal which Supra Sports used for a while in the mid 80's. My boat was built with the Lasdrop also. When I had problems with it, I found it more economical to switch to the PSS shaft seal that I got from skidim. Lasdrop parts are very expensive.

I found a replacement stuffing box seal for $35. Do you put packing in the rubber boot?

This link has the best images I can get right now. I can take a pic of my boat tomorrow.

OK - that's not the Lasdrop I thought you had after reading your description - sorry to lead you on a bunny trail.

That's a new one on me. Not familiar with that one.
