courtesy lights

Prior to removing my gauges my courtesy lights worked fine (i think). I just installed new gauges, following my schematic I made of the wiring. I found some loose connections on the gauge I didn't replace. It was the ground stud on the fuel gauge. Now then I turn on the nav lights the courtesy light comes on on the starboard side. It's dimmer than when the courtesy lights are on. When I turn the courtesy switch on all courtesy lights come on as they should.

I was wondering if the single light should be coming on when the nav lights are on? Seems to make sense but I don't want a short if it isn't right.

Figured it out. While trouble shooting I noticed that the blower also turned it on as well as the stern light. Followed the hot lead from the blower switch to the circuit board under the dash and the connection was crossing with the hot wire next to it. I can't believe they used nonshielded connectors! Separated them and all is well. Hope this will help someone in the future.
