Quick question: are the cleats on the late 80's Supras attached with small through bolts vs screws? They seem to just wanna spin. If so, pretty sure I can reach up under the play pin to access the front cleats, but the rear seems only viable by taking apart the ski locker? Any words of advice would be appreciated.

They are through bolted through top cap .. get a long extention and a wobble socket ( universal) use a small kid for the access under the play pen...

And the rears I would remove tank .. I don't see u having a chance without doing so ... source :: ( just put mine one a week ago)

I accessed mine without having to remove the gas tank. But I'm wirey (scottish accent). :D

On my Salt - through bolted cleats accessed from the rear with ski locker removed. Too far of a reach through my rear speaker/cupholder hole, but I'm just short (old white guy accent).

I was able to reach the ones through the speaker hole on my salt. Just barely. And with a lot of fibgerglass itch the next day.

The front ones and back ones were through-bolted, the mid-ship ones were only held in with lag bolts.

i don't think the midships cleats were factory...but what do i know. is the fiberglass shaped around them like the front and rear cleats?

taking the rear storage out is probably the least painful. from memory, the front speakers are closer to those cleats.

Well balls..... I'm definitely not gonna pull my damn gas tank! I'll shoot for fiddling with the ski locker and hope i can snake my stubby arms that far!! Thanks guys for the tips.

on my sunsport there was a vent on the right hand side of the ski locker.... it made getting that on easy. You don't have to pull the tank... it helps but I think you can get at them by just removing the rear seat.

All of my interior is custom with a 55 gallon hard tank under the seat all plumbed amd fastened down, really just wishing for a quick painless solution! But.....that's ok, tomorrow I'll break out the big guns ;)

you can also open up access holes in the interior wall...the seat bases should cover them up.

Ya, it buries the back end pretty good when it's filled! Nice to just hit the switch to fill and empty like a newer boat as well.
