I just bought a 1988 Supra and it needs a prop. I am not looking for anything special, just OEM for now. I think I have figured out from the forum that it needs 13x12 or 13x13 LH with 1" diameter? Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

Is the transmission a 1:1.23 or a 1:1?

I have no idea what transmission it is. Did they use different ones for that year and model?

Pretty sure it's a 1:1

My comp was a 1.23:1.

CassieDee there will be a little metal tag on your transmission. If you don't know where that is, follow the two red cables on the back of the engine. One will go to the carb on top, the other to the shifter linkage on your transmission. Look for a tag about the size of a business card, it will tell you the ratio.

Selecting props is a little tricky some times.

no help with your comp. but i think you should buy a nice prop now if you know how you're going to use your boat...slalom vs boarding vs surfing. no point in dropping a few hundred to end up needing to do it again later.

there are few, if any, parts on a boat that when changed will make a bigger difference. it is where the rubber meets the road so to speak.

call acme or nettles prop shop, imo.

Wakeboarding, tubing, slalom, trick...the boat needs a lot of work. I just want to get it in the water and make sure there are no major issues before investing in a really nice prop. May I ask what about the transmission ratio affects the prop size?

I have one on Ebay right now. reserve is $150 and its in great shape. I wish I was keeping it for my 90 sunsport that my wife talked me into selling and getting this tige 22I that does not handle rought water near as good as my old supra.

I am interested. Where are you located? I am in Indiana, just wanting an idea of shipping cost.

I just bought a new prop last week and threw it on the boat Friday evening. Was running a 13X13 on m 1988 Comp and it vibrated terribly and had no holeshot. Well, long story short, I ran it up into the rocks a week ago and butchered the prop. Shaft is fine, prop was hamburger. Bought a new ACME 13 inch 11.5 pitch and it's like having a new boat. Smooth, great power, what a difference. I think my top end dropped from around 42 to 39 but I really don't need to go any faster than that.

Got the prop from Prop MN in Eden Prairie MN. Acme quoted me $459.00 direct and Prop MD sold me the same Acme prop for $429.00 and they are going to fix my old prop for free. They will ship them for $10.00 extra. They may have some used stuff also.
