I ended up buying the 95 Sunsport. She even came with 1100lbs of ballast, I just have to get a pump for the sacks. With the tower folded down she barely fits in my drive way. Going to go through her and replace the riser gaskets on the exhaust, change the oil and transmission fuild, check the impeller condition, replace the batteries, and redo the stereo. But first I'm going to get vaild registration and go for a ride after work....hopefully :)

I said the same thing Haugy. Where the hell was this boat 4 months ago when I bought the 86 Sunsport. I've gone too far on the 86 to scrap it. New stringers are in and glassed, new floor is in, and the hull has been sanded for paint.

Beautiful. Congrats! I also love that flat roof over your driveway. It would be crushed by snow here, but that's a perfect spot to park a boat!

I don't think it would hold up to piles of snow on it, but it held up to 110-120mph winds when Hurricane Ike made landfall in 2008.

will be interesting to hear how the 2 perform. 95 w/454 or the rebuilt 86. one more makes a fleet, right?

Great looking boat, so how much work do you think that 86 is going to get now that you brought home a new girl friend? Are you going to keep both or sell the older once she is completed?

Asking price was $14,500 OBO. I said $12,000 and we settled on $12,250 and he threw in the 1100lbs of ballast.

The 86 will still get worked on, but I won't be going all out custom with it. I think I am going to back as close to a factory look as I can. The 86 will probably be the one that gets sold. We'll see when she finally gets finished.

LOL, but two is enough. One at my house and one at my friends shop. I love my friends 86 with the 351, but that 454 purrs and has some great power.

I see you 86'ing the 86. No doubt in my mind which is the better boat overall.

Very nice. I want it! That's the only model that I could see myself upgrading my current one for. Good find.

Beautiful boat! It's nice to see what mine should look like before it got painted grey. I really like the scripted letters on the sides. You got that boat at a great price.

Haugy--weren't you thinking about driving to go see the boat I bought? Something about you wished it were the original red and you'd be all over it? To think that paint stopped you from buying a composite...:D But, I'm glad you did so I could buy it! ;)

We loaded it down with 1100lbs last Sunday (550lb bag on each side of the boat). What a great wake!!!! Going to put another 700lbs in there tomorrow when we go ride. Probably one of the 350's in the front ski locker and the other 350 in the middle of the back seat. Having the 454 (7.4HO) in her makes a huge difference when carrying that much weight.

Was yours the gray painted one? Yeah, I thought about it. I had my reservations, and the distance didn't help. I'm still very happy with my Salt. In another year I figure I will have it closer to my standards. Right now I'm so frustrated with what the previous owners did to it. It's still needs a buttload of work to be awesome again.

Yeah that's the one. Knowing what I've seen and heard about you on the forum, you would have walked away from this boat. It needs a lot of attention to be fully restored, but is the perfect first boat for me and my young children. I love what you have done with your boat and could only hope that one day mine can look as clean as yours. Keep up the good work!
