I can now join the "need to fix my prop" club. I wish I could blame it on an unseen stump or something but this was my doing. Can't even blame it on alcohol! I drove over my wake handle and it bound up in the prop bending a blade. Had to bring it to shallow water and bend it back to keep from hitting the rudder. I am usually super careful about where my line is, but I guess I had a slip in concentraion. $100 was my quote to get it fixed and should have it by Friday. Here are some pics.

Been there, and done that. Welcome to the club! Don't worry, you'll be more aware of the handle from now on!

Where do you take your prop to get fixed?

Thanks! I sure will be more cautious...it's an expensive mistake!

I'll post up some pics of what it looks like when I get it back. First time with this complany, but they were recommended by a friend who has used them several times.

That blows! I had a close call with my line my first time out. Rusty driving and passenger was distracting me. Was my first time using my brand new coated (blue) line. I like the line and handle, but I see why it was on sale... Blue blends in with water really well. Fortunately I saw it when it went under the bow, hit reverse hard, and avoided trouble. So far I've not joined the banged up prop club... But I do have a spare just in case.

I got the line wrapped around the prop and shaft once...but it didn't do any damage.

Cadunkle--I've got a spare 3-blade that came with the boat so I'm still able to get out. I recommend a spare to everybody because you never know when it will happen! My mainline is white, but sinks pretty quickly. The handle floats, but is blue so I know what you are saying about not being able to see it well!

Ptownkid--I think I would have been fine had it been the mainline. It was my handle that got caught in the prop. My guess is that it stuck against the rudder and bent the fin. I hit neutral right away when we heard it, but it was too late.
