So, a water pump from skidim for my 351 is like $120. A water pump for a 1987 ford pickup from rock auto is like $20. Do I have to use the marine version? Is there any difference? Does my boat turn the pump the same direction as the truck?

In general I never know what parts you need to use marine versions of, and what ones the normal automotive version is good enough for.

Marine is heavy duty and has better bearings in them, plus I think the rotation is incorrect.

Can we see a photo of your engine? I'm pretty sure that my engine only has 1 water pump? You're saying that yours has 2?

they all have 2, as far as I know. 1 is the raw water pump and the other is the circulation pump (which, on a car engine, is the only pump).

Daff, thanks for the advice. I will suck it up and pay the $120 for the 'right' pump.
