We had a great time with everyone who attended our Supra Forums Reunion event in Chattanooga this weekend. Lots of stories, pics, and gossip to share. Well, we'll share most of it anyway. In attendance we had: Michael Hunter, TitanTn, Loadup, Jetlink, Ngavdba, and KarolinaKid. Everyone had family too, so we had a decent crowd.

Special kudos to Jetlink and Mrs. Jetlink for flying in from Chicago. We enjoyed having having them here and it's the only time I've had a mechanic fly into town to give me a hand! More on that later.

I'm going to post several pics here, but I'm sure the other guys will add to it as soon as they can.

Just to clarify for everyone... Haugy didn't make it.

We had great weather, plenty of room at the campground, and great food and fellowship. Plus we got to talk Supra.

And now for my fun. Late on Saturday afternoon, I was pulling Jetlink when I suddenly lost power, but not RPMs. This was immediately followed by a "clunk" noise from under the boat. Upon further inspection, the prop shaft pulled out from the transmission coupler. Apparently the only thing holding it in is two set screws. The clunk noise was the prop hitting the rudder which is what fortunately kept us afloat. Jetlink and I got the shaft just into coupler, enough to put the transmission into gear. Ngavdba took Jetlink to the ramp so he could back my trailer in. Once on the trailer, Jetlink and Michael Hunter helped me align the shaft and get everything back together. Thanks to Ben for sweating it out in 96 degree weather, and thanks to Mike for having a rolling Matco Tool van. It didn't take us long at all.

The bad/good news is that I now have a decent vibration at all speeds. I was already planning on getting a new prop, but now I have an even better reason. I'm hoping it's just the dinged prop. It got a nick when it came back and collided with the rudder.

Here is a pic of Jetlink helping me wrench on the coupler.

Sounds (and looks) like a great time was had by most...nice to see you got the problem figured out anyway. One year I hope to make it to one of these events! My mom drove up from south Florida a week early, so it was a no-go for me this year. I did get out on my local river for a few hours, and with my wife driving, and mom as the spotter I rode my old garage sale water skiis about 5 miles down the glass to our lunch spot. A couple of my friends were supposed to join us, but they flaked for some reason or another. Glad to see you all got together, and more pic's please!!

Awesome pics Daniel. I assume most of these were taken with the camera on your windshield. They really turned out great.

No worries on the time of arrival, we were just glad you and Mrs. Ngavdba were able to join us. Glad you got some time to tour some of the area. Come back again and we'll go through the locks to downtown.

Looks like you guys had a great time! I can't wait to see Ben and Laura in a couple weeks to here all about the beautiful boats... a little jealous to know Mr. Hunter and his Sunsport were there, along with a Salty that got stringer's in a basement, Not to mention that Rider from Georgia!!! Pics, weather, folks and boats all look awesome, good on y'all for getting it done! My best friend had his 37th today and we celebrated all weekend by gutting ( and by that I mean emptying it for gutting)the hoarders house he closed on friday....uhhh yippee?

I guess I'll chime in as well. It was a ton of fun for both Laura and myself to be able to spend the day in good company with great looking boats and even better people. I'll attest that all the boats looked great from ten feet away as we joked and also much closer. Driving home today to take a nap before I had to work, Laura informed me that she now wants to move down that way so, thanks to whoever sold her on that! Hahaha!

Looking forward to the next meet, there will be another one right Rob, something like the second annual something or other?

Absolutely. We need to do it again. I don't know what it'll take for Haugy to join us... I mean Chattanooga is just a little downhill from Nashville, and it's not like he needed to fly in like other people did. :-P

Not to make excuses, but mine is valid. I did have the free time this weekend to get down there, with the boat even. But I recently discovered my home is a stronghold for Brown Recluse spiders. And I mean, everywhere. Even when I've been paying a pest company to prevent Brown recluse spiders, I found a huge nest of them under my house (crawlspace). So I spent the weekend in spider prevention and eradication mode. I can't have my little buddy getting bit. :(

I really hated to miss it. But family first.

Plus, I have to keep my hardass-jerk image up. I can't have you guys thinking I'm a nice guy, you'll start slacking on keeping those beautiful Supras as gorgeous as they are.

Done packing yet?

Actually I'm just starting. We had a decent amount clean-up to do from the storms that hit on Thursday of last week. I've been cleaning the yard, driveway, pool, mowing grass, etc. Packing now and heading to London in a couple of hours. It's been a whirlwind, but I'm glad we squeezed this past weekend in.

Hah! I knew it was a familiar but somehow totally spaced that it was you.... Boat looks great. I'm still jealous of your tower. How much head-room does that have? With my speaker cans on there would I be hitting my head every time I stood up?

Thanks to all that attended and special thanks to Rob and his family[TitanTn] for the invite and lake guide . What a great group the only thing that would have made it better is more would have joined in. I got some first hand experience with a couple sweet Saltares and a jaw dropping 83 Rider. I was jonesing over the 91 Legacy I would love to put one of those in my fleet. I saw more vintage Supras then ever before having 1983,1986,1989,1990 and 1991 covered . Just before calling it a weekend I pulled up my anchor and looked up to see a Supra heading my way . It turned out to be a 1989 Sunsport Classic same colors as mine . I haven't seen another one of those since 1989. I talked to the owner and he is going to join the forum. What a weekend, Great time I'm glad I came for those that didn't make it there will be a follow up dont miss out again. Haugy you should have called Orkin and come I didn't see any spiders there. Sorry for the lac of pics I was too busy having a good time.

I have yet to dock beside any other Supra than mine in the north. Nor have I seen one on the water..... Looks like a great time and wish the distances were not so great.

Thanks man. I really am pleased with the tower. I have plenty of headroom and wouldn't be hitting my head if I mount speakers. I had my tower built to be similar to the New Dimensions tower that Michael Hunter is running, but he even indicated that he liked mine better. The tubing is slightly larger.

Come south about 5 hours and you can hardly take a step without seeing one.
There where 4 campsites in a row with either a comp or mariah in them all last week.

BTW - the first Saturday after July 4th never works for me . . . But we all have schedules, right?

But we all have schedules, right?Hey Clint, your boat was brought up in conversation, actually, it was more your immaculate bilge that was brought up. Hopefully this first year and the picture evidence of all the fun that was had will inspire more events around the country and hopefully drive up attendance next year. Speaking of, anybody want to arrange a meet closer to Nashville than Chattanooga for those that live farther west in the state?

I'm in!! :D :D We got a ramp 2 miles from my house, free boat parking at the shop. HA HA HA!!

I actually started thinking about it, y'all would have hated me being there. That many fine Supras together, oh yeah there would be some serious photography posing going on. Y'all would have been so annoyed at me trying to line up the boats for some awesome shots I may not have made it back. :D
