If you get the opportunity to participate you will experience one of the most rewarding days of owning your boat. We attended the Wake the World in North Carolina and had a great time with the kids. Seeing their faces light up when you pull them behind the boat for the first time is fantastic. The event in NC only used v drive boats to keep the kids safe. I assume the one in KY would be the same.:)

Great to see you on here Jeff! I agree - great experience. Go if you have the chance! Taylorsville Lake on July 17. Or come to Wake the World WV on July 30. Or do both!

I look forward to meeting everyone in Kentucky! We will be bringing our boat up for the event then cruising over to Summersville Lake, WV to meet up with Clint and his family.

Jeff- I am so glad you were able to share in the experience with us this year! I will probably come by and steal Katie from you on Friday. I am giving lessons to a family on Badin and I need her driving skills!

Clint, I wish I could make the KY trip on the 17th but I will be in Atlanta. As for WV on the 30th that is a thought. I will have to see how things go in the next couple of weeks. Our son will be home until the 27th so we might be a little tight on the time. Hope all is well in WV.

Well we spent the afternoon getting the boat ready for Wake the World tomorrow in KY. I finally got around to installing the stereo, I have been listening to a boom box sitting on the dash. lol. Sounds a lot better now.

We put new LED lights on the trailer. They will see us stopping a mile away.

And we timed the 454, did a little tuning on the carb. Seems to be running better than ever. We shall see when we put her on the water.

She won't be the newest boat there, but hopefully the kids can appreciate that she is a classic. lol.

Wish I could make it but it took longer than expected to get the new rudder, I heard a rumor though that only v drives are allowed and not direct drives for safety? is this true or a rumor? I would like to attend next year but have me a direct drive comp

The events are insured by the World Wakeboard Association, which requires all boats to be inboard - either direct drive or v-drive.

It was great to meet everyone. I had my daughter Julie and my friend Zack. We let Zack go on another boat. Brock used us as the extra boat so we had some girls in the morning until their boat was ready. We had one girl that was scared of the water, so we spent a lot of time swimming, just to get her used to being in the water with the life jacket. We were thrilled to have girls that were pumped up about wanting to wakeboard. When gogger showed up we gave him a couple of our girls that wanted to tube. We got the other 3 up and wakeboarding before lunch. At lunch, We traded off our girls and picked up Zack.

Zack is the youngest rider to ever win "Big Air" on a Hydrofoil. Lunchtime was a good time to let Zack put on a show.

Our next plan was to video and take pictures of everybody on the water. Our plans changed when one of the boats had a throttle cable break. For the rest of the afternoon we had 3 boys. We had one kid that really took to the kneeboard, the other two preferred the tube. At the end of the day we pulled 2 tubes, one kid on each tube plus me! It was funny because they were hanging on with both hands and I was bouncing from one tube to the other. I actually started in the middle with a grip on each tube.

All in all it was a great day. More importantly, we were able to share an experience that these kids they will have for a lifetime!:)
