Second Battery Installation

I'm planning to install a second battery with a Perko switch in my 2003 supra launch ss. My question concerns the size of the switch I need to purchase, based on the amps produced by the alternator. Does anyone know how many amps a standard alternator puts out?

As a side question, if I were to run the boat on the "combined" setting of the switch (combined batteries 1 and 2 in parallel), would the alternator be able to support charging both batteries?

Look at one of the automated kits, they are a little bit more difficult to install but you don't have to worry about Selecting 1/2/Combined to make sure both batteries are charged.
