backwards starter

replaced starter in boat then it wouldnt start saw bubbles coming from under carbeureter, bought new carb still wont start.. friend notices engine turning countet closk wise and we are back pressuring through the engine blowing fuel out thru the carb.. says the starter i have is turning the eengine backwards.. that s why it wont start.. makes sense to me.. anyone else?

Where did you get the starter from? Marine starters are sold in both CCW and CW rotations.

took it back today.. he confirmed it went the wrong way.. they are getting me a new one tomorrow.. now i need to return a carbeurater..:(
