Just starting to think about what I want to do over the winter to the Pirata. Other than new stringers, I would like to dress up the 454, just wonder what some of you more experienced older supra owners have done? If you could post some pics that would be greatly appreciated.

Well, mine's not really dressed up, but I did some quick painting this winter when I had it out. You'll have to see pics from csuggs to see a really pretty engine and bilge.

I don't have any pics, but I have designed my engine to be all silver with blue accents. Black exhaust, and custom powdercoated valve covers. :)

SybrMike, Csuggs, and some of the other Saltare builds have some sexy as hell engines.

Thanks Haugy. My all original 454 was rusted pretty bad, pitted valve covers, bad water pump bearing, etc. so I took the opportunity to upgrade various components during the rebuild - blasted & painted block & hardware, cleaned up head ports, polished Al air gap intake, polished Al valve covers, polished Al water pump, updated Tstat housing, rebuilt 4160, electronic ignition, new 140A alternator, upgraded wiring, new hoses, s/s bolts, etc.

Mild to wild, it's your choice - but unless you plan on making a lexan doghouse, no one else is gonna know..

Beg to differ on that a little bit. At the supra meet that TitanTN put together, I know for a fact that at least 3 of the boats down there popped the dog house and we all were drooling over engines. It's inevitable when you get guys around boats that rumble like these small and big block 8s.

And sometimes those guys end up elbows deep in your bilge wrenching on a loose prop shaft...

Well for those that like the rumble of a big block, I would like it to look good when I do open the dog house. Thanks for the input and pics. I have some work ahead of me.
