Please educate me.
What is difference in these older models? Are they about same length and width?

Comp
Impulse

TS6M and Comp and Impulse are same hull--different models
Actually TS6M is the Comp-same thing.
Impulse is a version of the Comp-less frills I believe

TS6M means tournament ski 6 meters
there is 3.3 feet in a meter so 19 ft 8 inches.
Tradtionally tournament ski boats used to measure out at around 19 ft 6 inches
thus TS6M
at least this is my understanding of same

Yep. Exactly. I bought a '90 Comp way back then. Impulse was same hull without all the bells and whistles. Also had the 1:1 instead of the 1:23 power plus that came with the Comp.

The Econo-Comp.

Yup, like mine... I am a 1:1 transmission on my comp and that is original. I thought the 1.23:1 transmissions were more prevalent on the sunsports and such. Never heard of a comp having one.

Maybe they switched to the 1.23 trans in '89 like Nautiques did?

My 1992 Impulse. I'm new with this so I'm still learning all about mine. I haven't found much about the Impulse. Hopefully more people can speak out.

Lots of transmission talk on this thread - slight highjack...
How do you identify what transmission you have?
Thanks!

There should be a plate on it with some numbers, etc.

Nice looking impulse 03... I don't want to spread any rumors but always thought the impulse was simply an open bow Comp. Can anyone do a periodicals search online for waterski magazine's boat buyers guide for 91 and 92? I believe they were rating the wakes back then and hole shot time. 1:1.23 here on my 91 comp

Impulse is a trim level I think, the open bow "Comp" is the "Conbrio."

The fastest way to identify a 1.23 to 1 trans is to look at the engine if its level its a 1.23 trans and it will back up to the port side. If the engine is at an angle in line with the prop shaft its a 1 to 1 trans and will back up to the port side.

Fixed it for you.
