what should the top speed and corresponding RPMs be for an '88 TS6M with 351?

it all depends on your prop, if you have the original Michigan 13x13 (probably) you should be able to do 50 or so at sea level, at about 5200rpm.
I use a 12x16 racing prop (highly cupped) that allows me to rev to 5400rpm immediately, and pull up as many as 8 skiers, I can go 43mph with that set-up, and then there is all in between.
If you want to really go, and have and indmar 340 or better, I have a Michigan Wheel 14x16 prop that will make you go fast, 60mph or so if you can turn it.
The 1988 Comp with a 13 x 13 prop. does 45 mph at 4600 rpm max. You may be able to get a little more speed out of it with a different prop., but I would watch the rpm. If you want your engine to last, don't exceed the PCM rating of 4600.
Top speed on the 88 Comp with the original prop. was 45 mph. The max. rpm is 4600. You might be able to go a little faster with a different prop.
