Got a chance to demo the new Supra SA450 yesterday.....

This boat is bada$$. We demoed the 450 HP motor and that thing sounded sweet. You could hear it coming and going and sounded great in the boat. The wake was huge for wakeboarding and produced an overall really good surf wave. Would like to spend some more time dialing in the surf wave. We just did not have enough time and too many people wanting to jump on it. It handled great even totally loaded! Here are some pics of it and a couple other threads to follow from me or other people if you are interested in the boat. Big thumbs up and might just see one of these in my garage next year if I can afford the SOB.....

At least it isn't a bohemoth like the Nautique. I like this one better than the 242 to be honest. Even though it's a Malibu knock-off.

The only thing I'm really envious about on that boat is the "001" model number. I would do unspeakable things to get the #1 of a Saltare or Sunsport.

How does this fit into the lineup compared to the 242? Is this now the flagship boat?

I am sure the goal is to make this the flagship boat, but who knows really. It is 22'6" so it will not replace the 242 I doubt.

As for me - I think I'm in love. I rode the '12 Malibu MZX (or is it MXZ?) earlier this year and yes, the SA looks like a knockoff. There are a lot of really nice new boats out there, but not too many people I know can afford them so . . . . . I'll just stick with my old girl for now! ;-)

ngavdba - This is a prototype. Not meant to be sold to a dealer or they would put a real serial number on it. It is the first one out of the mold and will be used for competitions and stuff is what I was told.
If I was an old school supra guy, I would probably think it was ugly too, but the reality is this is where the market is going and things have changed from 20-30 years ago when many of your boats were made. I can still appreciate the old stuff too, but the new stuff is pretty darn cool.

Is it dual exhaust or did they change and go single outlet? It has a decent tone from what I heard but I must say, there is no mistaking a classic running across the lake. When we were all floating for the classic meet in July, we all heard Dan and his rider cruise towards us and heard him before we saw him.
