Hey all,

summer seems long gone...
Question?

How do i get the plugs out of the Exhaust manafolds to drain the water? I know some do this and others do not, but i like to have all the bases covered.

**see pic.

Its this little square $*&%*^ that i can't seem to get out. i need the right tool for the right job but not sure what that would be.

Others have had to run into this?

Let me know. Thanks

3/4 inch ratchet works. Might need a 3" extension. It is the same size as the square...no socket needed.

Kevin's got you. 1/2" drive ratchet has got you covered.

Don't forget there is a drain on each side of the block as well at at the bottom of the water pump elbow.

Good call...1/2" not 3/4". Brain fart!

You will be suprised on the debris wihich comes out of the manifolds. Beter to fart then to freeze.....

Also, in case you didn't know. Pull the water hose off of the bottom of the transmission cooler and hold the end of the hose against the bottom of the bilge. This will drain the transmission cooler and the loop of hose that goes under the engine to the raw water pump.
