The real pride and joy is spending time with family and of course observing safe boating practices...

Also, the whole purpose of that trip was to see an OCC Boat Race. One of the most awesome things i've ever seen. Just try to imagine NASCAR on water. We were at the front of the spectator line, probably about 300-400 yds from the course.

In this pic you'll notice two yachts in the middle of the course. If you look close you'll notice that the one on the right has a TN state flag flying. The race was held right above Pickwick Dam on Pickwick lake, a Tennessee Valley Authorty (TVA) resevoir on the Tennessee River. I was told by an officer on a USCG boat that the boat with the flag was the governor of TN. I asked him jokingly how much it would cost somebody to get an anchor spot like that and he said: "more than my yearly salary."

Another funny thing is: When i told my mother i was taking the boat up to this race, she replied with a clueless: "You're not gonna race the Supra are you?" I still get a laugh out of that one.

Fantastic pics!! Hey are you a TN Native (or currently at least...) Any interest in a midwest owners event?? I love the races, we have Thunder on the Ohio in Evansville, would have to check dates... looks like we have a similar idea of what a day at the sandbar means...

Not, Tennessee, Northwest Alabama. My home lake is Wilson Lake on the Tennessee River. Those races were on then next lake down, Pickwick lake which runs from Alabama up into Tennessee. A southeast owners event would be awesome. Unfortunately it probably wouldnt be very doable for me. I'm covered up with law schoor right now and next summer will be monopolized by the bar exam. Its actually 2:45 AM right now and im taking a break from studyind for my administrative law final in the morning. Also, i dont trust my trailer to go more than an hour or so from home. We live on the lake and keep the boat on a lift, so the trailer only gets used a couple times a year. Man, i'd give anything to just be able to hop up in the morning and hit the lake. Oh well, maybe i'll get lucky and get a warm day over christmas break (is it still PC to say Christmas on this board, must i say the "holiday break") I managed to get out last January when we had a random 70 degree day. Its good to know that some people actually use their Supras for regular boating. I like to board, but just cant justify spending money on ballast and towers with the way gas prices are.

Cheers,
DKJ

PS If im rambling or this post makes no sense, readers must forgive me. I've crammed my head with too much crap about formal adjudication and rulemaking. Oh well, on to judicial review.

You know it dawned on me with your username where ya might be from but I also considered maybe that was an alma matre or somthing. Sounds like you have your plate full; Good luck with everything & I hope the bar treats you well... you may need it to upgrade to any of the future Supras the way prices are going. I live in West Lafayette but the boat stays at Wawasee in northeast Indiana. We get a solid 4 month season out of the year but thats about it. We are pretty enthusiastic about water sports but not extreme at anything... well except maybe drinking. We love to ski, wakeboard and working on figuring out the wake surfer. But I agree... no extras on ballast or towers etc... The way traffic is on the lake during the weekends, your best bet is just to cruise out to the sandbar and anchor out for the afternoon. You can get a set or two in early AM but you run the risk of killing a flock of fisherman~
