I just run an autozone duralast marine starting. Plenty of kick to trun the motor over, and its starting its 4th season. It has lasted longer than any of the die hard marine batteries from sears that i've used. I think the quality of sears batteries has really gone down. They used to be great, but the recent one's i've bought have been crap. Not to mention the autozone battery was much cheaper, $60 i think. If you've got some money burning a hole in your pocket, you could always get an Optima.

If that doesnt work, get a new starter. I replaced the battery in my 86 to no avail. I put a new starter in it and now it turns it over alot easier.

I've found Iterstate batteries to be the best. I bought the biggest (cranking amps) car battery that they had and converted the terminals to marine application.

I had the money burning.. so I just bought a Blue top Optima since mine was getting old. Don't think you need to shell out the additional $60 for the optima, but my buddy who had an older Mariah swore by it, so figured I'd go all out....
