I am looking at upgrading to a 98 Comp. I currently have a 90. Can anyone tell me if the wake on the 98 is better or worse than the 90? I love the wake on my boat now! Also, does anyone know when supra stopped using wood in the boats (floors and stringers)? I thought it was 1995 but I am not sure.

The switch to all fiberglass was mid-year 1992. You might look at a larger model that has more freeboard (e.g., how high the sides of the boat are). The Sunsport, Pirata, and Saltare had a much larger freeboard than the comp and legacy. The higher freeboard will let you pack more weight into the boat for a bigger wake. The low-freeboard models just arent as good with dealing with the weight. In a brillaint flash of moronic ignorance, i once came close to sinking my maraih with too many people (16); the bow nearly swamped when i came down off plane.

Cheers,
DKJ

Suprasalad. Don't forget when you say better wake that wakeboarders will interpret that one way and waterskiiers will interpret that another way.

Several years ago I upgraded from an 87 Comp to a 99 Legacy. The Legacy wake is flatter & less spray at shorter rope lenghts. Hope this helps.

I have a 2000 Legacy, had a ski buddy with a 99 Comp that I skied with a bunch (same hull as the 98). The Comp wake is just a bit flatter than my Legacy, both are awesome for slalom. You'll like it!
