I was wondering what you guys do in the spring before you take the boat out for the first time? I know generaly clean, wax, change oil.... any others that will keep boat lasting longer.

I have an 86 supra marauder skier
new motor last spring only put about 40 to 50 hours on it.
It had 15 hour when I got the boat.
Motor is a pcm 454 GM

What things do I need to lube?
Any help would be awesome..
Thanks

1. Check the empeller - and replace if damaged or old

2. Check trans fluid - and replace if discolored or old

3. Replace fuel filter

4. Clean points if needed, check point gap and check timing

5. Check plugs -- clean and gap if needed

6. Have fun

How many of you change your oil as part of your winterization instead of when you pull the boat out in the Spring? I've always been told that was the best way to do it since the additives in the oil break down through use during the season. Changing it for winterization leaves fresh oil in the motor that's ready to go when you get it out and your not leaving the used oil in it over the winter that may have broken down over the season.
