You shouldn't really need to modify it to follow the rope. The viewing angle/area is so great that you might surprise yourself with the viewing area.

Thats going to be a lot of bumping around. I'd recommend mounting it on the stearn.

Get yourself a tower mount, I'm going to order what they call a roll bar mount to go on my tower. Also, try mounting it on the transom with one of the stick-on mounts. These guys are right, no need to follow the rope with the wide-angle panoramic-type views you get with a GoPro lens. Also try mounting to a helmet or wakeboard. Endless possibilities!

With the fish eye lense though, will you be able to see that far back? Here is a still shot from when I had my OG Hero on my bike:

the further away, the smaller it looks...

Wide angle lens will make it difficult to see I bet, as others have mentioned.

A guy on the Moomba forum rigged one up to his rope .....

"Get a 1/2" or 3/4" (can't remember exactly what I used) and cut it to 6 ft. The drill a 1/4 hole or so in one end about 2 inches up from the end. Then take a saw and cut up the short end to the hole you drilled. Now slide the rope through the PVC with the side with the hole toward the rope handle. Once the pipe has reached the "Y" in the handle you can slide the branches of the "Y" up the slits you cut until one side is coming out of each hole. Then you want to wrap the end with electrical tape, this will keep the camera up right with the handle. Use the go pro handle bar mount to install it at the end of the 6 ft pipe. "

Here are a couple of shots from my gopro. You can see the range it has. However if I cut out really far I go out of frame. I don't have a light on mine I just have a sticky mount on the top of the tower. The only thing I don't like about this angle is it's hard to judge the height of your jumps. By the way there is no noticeable shake with it mounted this way.

Wake porn. The lake I'm on is actually calm like this the most of the time. We maybe only get 4-6" waves on the roughest day.
