But I was suprised to see Kasey Kahne in the Supra brochure. It looks like they just gave him a boat in exchange for using his photo which probably isn't a bad deal for either party.
I would think that product endorsements like this are as good or better than sponsoring rider teams. To my mind, most people who really connect with a certain wakeboarder probably can't afford a brand new boat but I'll bet lots of NASCAR fans can afford one and might be interested in trying it if their favorite driver is doing it too.
You're also tapping a new market while the rider teams are just preaching to the choir. And judging by the breadth of product Supra is offering, they want more than just hardcore wakeboarders to buy. I'm not saying kill the rider team by the way - they're cool.
