What type of tranny fluid do I use for a 1990 Supra Comp TS6M. I have heard different things - including not using what is listed.

The shop recommended Dextron II.

Is this OK?

Thanks

Dexron II and DexronIII are the correct fluids for all the 1:1 gear rartio transmissions. If you have the 1.23:1 PCM gear reduction trans. (which was in all comps from 89-91), that required straight 30 wieght oil. Brian Raymond

I use Dexron III but was told I could also use 30 wieght oil to quiet things down a bit if needed but was told it may shift a little slower. When checking the level it can be hard to tell where it is, I filed down a flat side and filed lines across it,now it's much easier to tell.

Well I checked this weekend. I have the 1.23:1 PCM tranny. They put in Dextron II fluid. Do I have a problem? Should I drain and put in 30 weight oil?

Thanks for the replies.

You can use either or, but under no circumstances mix the 2. If next season comes, and you feel squirrely and want to try the 30wt., make sure the trans is all flushed of the dexron, happy Holidays. Brian Raymond

Just for history of this thread - I have had no problems with the Dextron II fluid. Seems to be just fine.
