has anyone put a fatsack under a closed bow? if so what weight and what was the effect? I want to try to eliminate some of the bow raise off takeoff.

That works, but this boat has what I call (my 1988 Comp) a serious bah-woosh factor, that is, a big wave can come over the windshield quite easily, it will be even more likely to happen with 400lbs of water up there.

Try taking a 3 ft swell over the front of an open bow. It took at least 30 mins for the bilge pump to pump that one out. I was lucky i didnt completely capsize. Between everyone on board we drowned 3 cellphones. The unintended wet t-shirt contest in the cool weather was a nice bonus though.
Solution: dont cross a huge wake at idle or just turn the boat enough so the wake hits the side.
