Anyone who has replaced the rubrail on their Salt, How much do I need?

there's a formula but i don't remember. tacomarine.com is where i got mine.

if i were you, i'd call jim at viper and see if he has stainless. somehow his price is cheaper than anything i've seen.

I just told Jim @ Viper that I wanted it and he shipped it to me. Here's from my emails to him (he never said how much I purchased, but I do remember his price being less than anything I could find online.)


The rub rail and insert for your Saltare’, black factory replacement is $275. This comes in coils so shipping is reasonable.

The black rub rail with ¾ stainless insert is $ 395 and will ship truck in 20’ lengths. There is also about $20 worth of screws needed to apply the SS. Best estimate is that it is about $160 more expensive to replace with SS rail.

That was in 2009 so it's probably gone up a bit. I paid $90 for the freight on the SS. I think it was worth it.

Oh also - I needed the rub rail AND the insert. If you are only replacing the insert, it's probably a lot cheaper.
