The last 2 years I have been having what I believe is vapor lock on my auto bilge. (96 ts6m comp) I hear slight hum in pump but no water pumping. I flip the manual switch on dash a few times and it will pump water. I replaced bilge last year thinking that would fix problem But it did exact same thing. Also a lot of water comes back into bilge area when pump shuts down. So summerizing boat today I check routing of bilge hose. Runs from bilge area up under and across my dash and to outlet. I noticed under dash there is about 2 feet of extra hose that is folded (not kinked) and wire tied together. Could this be the problem? My idea is to cut out the extra hose. And run it so it slopes up about 6 inches higher then outlet at end of run so water cant return into bilge area after it shuts down.
