Pro-Tec Ignition Replacement

Starting to have issues with the Pro-Tec ignition on my 1992 Sunsport. I was wondering if it would be best to purchase the retro kit from Skidim or to piece the ignition kit together myself, not sure exactly what I would need. The kit is priced at $549.32. Are there any other options out there as far as kits go. $550 is a chunk of change but if it is the best way to go then so be it. Any advice would be great.

Bite the bullet and get the kit Pro-Tec parts are hard to come by and even if you do fix it its just a madder of time before it breaks again and you will need to replace it.
