Dosen't seem right

Is it normal that my prop turns slowly when the engine is running but still in neutral? Not enough to move the boat but it will wind up a ski rope if it gets under there. Oh its an 87 sunsport 351

Do you get a lot of water in your bilge after you've been running? Your packing nut may be too loose. Or the wax cord may be just worn out.

They will do that though if the packing nut is too loose. But if it's snug, not tight just snug, it shouldn't.

that makes sense the packing is new but it could need tightened a little, I do get a little water only after running for a while. thanks Haugy

My 87 is doing the same thing but actually moves along pretty good! I was researching some past posts and thinking I may have poured in a bit too much tranny fluid end of last season? Sounded like a possible cause from what I read? Any insight would be appreciated!
