My hopes to do a top off restoration this past winter did not happen, and it seems that some of the soft spots on the floor have become worse. What are my options for temporarily patching the problem areas. I was thinking of just pulling up the carpet and scabbing in some 3/4 plywood to make it through the summer.

you could do that, but if it was me i would just bite the bullet and get do it. a lost summer on the water is way better than having something major happen. but i have seen people just screw a piece of carpeted ply over the existing floor. definitely red neck, but i guess it works. if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pick up your salt for?

thats a good deal for a salt. im looking for a basket case for about the same amount. hard to find. im currently collecting parts for a vdrive conversion. we will see if i settle for a sunsport, or hold out for what i really want...the saltare. time will tell, and im impatient.

Great looking pics, and your restoration is looking good. I understand getting through the summer, but you have to promise us a full stringer/floor restoration this winter! :)

that's prob the easiest. i had to do something very similar for a while when the removable piece above the driveshaft on mine cracked.

just make sure your motor mounts are holding well.

Your boating season will be spent mostly on land I am afraid. Pull the cap and be glad you did.

Oh crap!!!! You pulled a band-aid off hoping to reveal a scratch and you just found a shotgun blast wound. That thing is going to need major surgery, not a quick fix.

looks like time to bust out the credit cards and check book. i hope you like your garage. you will be spending a bit of time in it. trust me, it will be worth it in the end. just to be able to tell people that you built it. it feels pretty good!

that thing isnt worth the starting bid. it would cost me more in fuel and hotels than im willing to spend on that thing.
