Looking for ideas on best place to shop for a NEW starter . 83 Rider PCM 454 . Starter has been rebuilt twice in the last 4 years, and figure I should replace with new. Any help is greatly appreciated .

what's killing your starter? i think that's the real question.

connections are clean?...including where the ground attaches to the block.
how old are the cables?

Connections all clean, and cables are 2 years old. Starter hadn't been worked on since stringer job less than 2 years ago, and boat was taking on a good bit of water before then. Guessing corrosion inside starter,and planning to replace w/ new. Thank You for follow up.

I think rebuilding can only do so much, and some are better candidates than others. I'd say connect with DB Electrical and get a new starter.
