I took my manifold to a shop to have a previous braze fixed. Just got a call that it cracked more and they are not sure they can fix it.

So I think I am in the market for a new or used Manifold.

Anyone have one they want to part with??

It cracked more as they didn't heat it right before brazing and it cracked? Or it was already cracked?

I'd be checking their process before "I" bought anything.

Good luck on the hunt.

It was already cracked (not sure how bad as the PO apparently had it brazed and then an epoxy over it). The shop had re-brazed it one time before and it still had a small pinhole leak. When I took it back, to have it fixed, that is when it cracked...
The guy i know that works there is my brother in law's dad. I may ask for my money back for the original fix and see what he ponies up... we will see

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I think you can buy them one at a time from Skidim. For a $$$$$$$ of course.

It should be here Friday or Sat.... 316 shipped... they were the lowest price i could find and they had one in stock. because it was cracked, it was only a matter of time.... right? (im looking to feel better about buying a new one... *hint hint*)

A cracked manifold will fail. That is for certain, when is a gamble. A gamble you can take with a car, but not with a boat.

You made the right move. If not, we would end up reading about your manifold horror story.

You've already got the old manifold off right? Hell that's alot of the hard part right there. Many are so seized they have to be heated or cut off. Now is a good time to look at your coolant passages and exhaust ports and see how everything looks inside.

That makes me feel better! Both manifolds came off really easy. Should I put never sieze on the bolts when I put them back in? I got confirmation that SKIDIM shipped it yesterday. Looking for it to be here Friday! It was cracked pretty good it looks like to begin with and it was cracked bigtime after it cracked again.

As for the never seize you'll hear arguments for both. In reality, you shouldn't have to take this sucker off again. But if you do, do you want it to be easy or hard? If you do put never seize on them, after you go out each time for about the first 5-6 times, take a wrench to the bolts and make sure they are still good and snug.
