A friend just picked up a boat and is not sure what year or model Supra it is. He was told it is a 1999 but has not received the title as of yet. The Hull ID is UMES7581A000. Can the Year and model be identified from this?

Thanks!

The year is a 2000, from the last two digits. Probably only Supra (Skier's Choice) could tell you what model based on the HIN.

Also, my HIN starts with XKB, not UME. Do later Supras have a different letter combination?

Thanks for the reply! Hopefully someone can help decipher the VIN.

The boat had been neglected and left out in the weather to rot. The interior needs to be replaced and the gel coat sanded and buffed. Any input what should be done with the interior? Does any one make replacement covers or will he need to find an upholstery shop that can handle the replacement?

Looks like a Launch to me. Hard to tell for sure without interior pics. As for the interior most have issues WRT cracking and wear from this era unless they were very pampered from the start. Get a few quotes for some interior work. It might not be that bad...

I concur. Looks like a Launch. Why can't people put covers on boats? It's not that hard to do. Hell, a tarp would suffice if you can't afford a cover.
Ditto, Don't these people have any idea what it's worth? Hopefully your buddy takes care of her.

But a cover costs like, $500.00...that's money I could spend on gas, beer or both.

Being that you're a pilot, I'm sure you'd spend $500 in beer alone. And that's before the cabin doors close! :D :D

Got me to chuckle on this one...... As per me I treat mine like its a wood stringer boat, never let it sit wet and it is inside 95% of the time. This one is a diamond in the rough, shame the last owner treated it like a Chinese toy.

My beer budget leads people to believe that I have a drinking problem. And to that I reply, "I don't have a drinking problem, I can drink lots!" Evidenced by my beer fridge!!!
