So, I was able to get my tranny out of the boat, but I know I'm going to have to mess with the transmission mount that attaches to the stringers. It has a 7/16 square head. We busted a socket and a wrench on it already...

I know that when it's time to put the tranny back in, we'll have to get something to use on this square head. Any suggestions for a socket that won't break the bank?

Let it soak in a oil bath and give it some heat.... Amazing what a good set of torches can break free.

Craftsman 8 point socket will get it. The 8 point fit square headed bolts. They just use half the points. Won't hurt to add some heat.

You did loosen the large nut at the base first before you tried to turn the 7/16 adjuster????

Are you talking about the big nut that is above the eye bolt looking piece that supports the tranny? if so yes. if you are talking about something below the mount that goes sideways to the tranny, then no as I did not know anything was down there.
