I'm looking to buy distributor cap, rotor and condenser for my 88 comp. has pcm 351. The copper contacts in the cap now have a lil corrosion on them and have gashes from the rotor hitting some of them.... Is that normal?! The boat runs real ruff at idle and wants to die. Then I found the problem with the cap etc. so I found the napa part numbers that were posted on a thread for this but should the cap have a vent at the top so that it helps with corrosion build up? Thanks!

hey cbower...i don't have the part numbers but you will prob find a tune-up kit at your local nautique dealer. they run pcm engines and have the parts...at least the ones around austin do.

You can use napa caps and rotors, doesn't need to be PCM OEM. A nautique dealer will also have the correct PCM parts, but they are not fundamentally different to my knowledge. I have used a cap and rotor for a Ford F250 on my GT40 engine for 4 years now without skipping a beat.
