Trying to figure out where to mount my new radio. Where is the cleanest place to mount it? Having a hell of a time finding a nice place. At the shop right now.

you have to say what boat and year to get any good info. I'll start with somewhere inside

On my 87 sunsport it was mounted vertically under the helm. I never liked it there so...12593

sorry, couldn't resist. I wouldn't cut any holes. my SN2001 was mounted under the lip of the dash in a tray. kept it out of the elements and spying eyes without any none factory holes on the dash. Another idea is installing a head unit and using a remote commander.

Mounted the head unit in the pass-through area on the port side. Here it's mostly out of the way and protected from weather (even though it's supposed to be weather-resistant) because it's under the windshield. The idea was that it would still be accessible and protected in this location. Later, I added a control unit and iPod dock just next to the driver.

I was thinking about that location but it seems bulkier in my mind than it looks. Might end up with it their today.
