So i tried for a little bit with a razor and heat gun with good success on the Waves, but the pinstripes, I was not having any luck.

I ordered this wheel (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00488DDB8/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)and tried it briefly this morning as I was walking out the door and let me tell you!!! it was amazing! I wanted to finish the boat, but I needed to get to work... I figure it is going to take me about 30 min to remove all the pinstripes and decals with this.

So if you are looking to remove the decals, spend the 20 bucks and get the wheel... I know a lot of other people on here have used it with success too...

I used the 3M eraser wheel which is a very similar product. It definitely does a great job.

This decal eraser is amazing at removing the 20+ year old decals as well. I took the faded wave decals off in 15 min. Borrow one though. They are pricy. Most body shops have them.

I just did this a couple of weeks ago. Used a heat gun and about 12 ounces of goofoff. Took approximately 3 hours, most of that was getting the adhesive off that stuck to the boat after removing the decal. The bigger problem was the extent of fade in the gel compared with the protected surface below the decal. I had to wetsand at 400 grit, followed by 600 grit, then aquabuff 1000, followed by aquabull 2000 & finally wax. The whole process is a great way to kill an entire weekend.
