I'm new on this forum. I just got SA450 and would to know how any other SA owners is maximizing the ballast set up for wakeboarding . Where you set the smart plate to maximize the wake more vertical etc. any help would be appreciated.

I don't have a SA, but if you whant a steeper wake, you have to move the wakeplate in the up position. And: As more weight you have in the back, as steeper the wake gets, but not necessarily better ;-). Its a mix of speed, weight in the boat (incl. passenger and where they sit), the smartplate and the length of the rope.

Welcome. But yeah, you wont' find many SA owners in here. Most of us are only partly-baller status. Going with the SA means you are a full blown baller. :D

Me? I'm an old-baller with an old boat..............

You wouldn't happen to be in Raleigh, NC would you?

I'll trade you pulls behind my comp for pulls behind your SA.

You can play with your ballast and wake plate and i'll tell you how the wake's doing back there. Sound good?

But seriously, OneCent is right on the money with his last statement. Fix three variables and change the 4th to see how everything is related and work your way from there.

I would look at purchasing the 750 bags for the rear lockers. Your dealer can order them and they fit perfectly. The extra weight will definitely make the wake a lot steeper. You would have about 3000 pounds concealed at that point and the wake is money with that weight for any advanced rider. I've ridden it and LOVED it with that setup.

I do have the 750 bags in the rear plus the bags in the front. Coming from a BU and MB I have never used the plate. Used to have to ride at about 25 to clean up the MB. Trying to figure speed and rope length and where to have the plate. I love the boat but the timer is crazy! @whammond come on out to the west coast or meet half way and you got a deal! Thanks for the help from all of you.

Have the 750 bags. Not so familiar with plate. Best speed and rope length? Coming from an MB and bu and use to have to go about 25 to clean up the MB. Thanks for help. @whammond meet you half between NC and west coast and you got a deal.

That's sick (at least I think that's a compliment). I can't even imagine.

I replaced the tower speakers with Exile horns and a harpoon amp and added the Exile ZLD zone. We added a JL sub anda couple of other amps. Anyone who want to buy the speakers originally on tower I would give great price. They are a pair of the Roswell horns and apair of Roswells. Honestly didn't know the horns were on there but they sounded great but we had already purchased the exiles. Have the 750 bags in the back and available factory ballast so at about 3000. Still have 12 40 pound pop bags so thinking of throwing the boat and see how they do on top of the ballast. Again anyone interested in speakers let me know. Looking to see what speed and length of rope anyone riding with. Had a BU and MB and with MB had to go about 25 to clean up wake. Any suggestions welcome.

Every SA I have been on has had a super clean wake so I doubt you will need to go much faster than 20 to clean it up even with a lot of ballast. Line length is your preference and depends on riding level but the wake should be clean back 75-80 feet
