water coming OUT of boat around prop shaft?

had the boat out last weekend - been sitting for about a month

Filled up the gas tank at a gas station, and when I test started the boat - all kinds of water shot out around the prop shaft - where it enters the hull.

Anybody ever notice this? I never have before.

My 1st reaction was that fuel was leaking out

That is you drip less drive shaft seal .It is lubricated with water from the cooling system. When you run it out of the water its normal to see water coming out there.
