Well, let's see them boys? I haven't been out in the Supra yet this weekend as I have been busy with other things and I think I am officially due for that stringer and floor job now.

Only picture I have is this toy...

Cool, can you land that on the water with the engine mounted up high like that? I would have pics to share as we went to the lake Saturday, but I was too busy just trying to keep the boat dry as traffic was nuts. We got swamped pretty bad by a big cruiser, scared us for a minute as we had 4 dogs on board with us. Cops went after him, but did not seem to care if we were OK. Still trying to dry her out!

Yep man, in the week this spot is perfect : nobody, no boat, no jet. But we can't wakeboarding during the weekend : too much people on the water, jet skis, boats doing VS speed runs, tubbing etc.

Yup, makes for some rather interesting handling qualities unique to this airplane. It is also a very rough ride on the water. And I thought my Comp was rough!

sdc77, great videos! Gotta love France!

Thanks man ! Yes France is nice, small as your smallest state, but has a very old story, with rivers, lakes, castels. We have sea, ocean, mountains, canyons, sand dune, nice cities, villages etc.

Anyway I would love to visit the USA. A friend just gave me my first DOLLAR. It seems to give me luck actually :)

Hey Jetlink those are very cool airplanes! I flew one years ago in Alaska. A friend of mine had one when we lived on the Selawik river in the northwest arctic. Really a great plane to have for a day of fishing. If you are not catching fish here, just move!

We went to Carters Lake in northwest GA for the holiday weekend. We've never been there but were concerned about the often overcrowded conditions on holidays and decided to try someplace a little more out of the way. It was amazing! There were very few other boaters and there was glassy water all over.

Well, I finally got out last weekend, by myself. Met up with some friends and just hung out. Took the boat down river to meet some people for dinner on the water, and then did a solo night cruise back. Definitely a good time. I had the tunes up as loud as they would go, really. And just had a nice cruise.

Unfortunately by myself I didn't get to get many cool shots, so here are two crappy ones with the cell phone.

Spent last week near Charleston SC, at Folly Beach. Wonderful place, our friends have a center console Key West, which we had a great time on. But we really missed the Supra. We tried to knee board behind it. Compared to the 454 it had no pulling power at all. But it was overall a great vacation and we can't wait until next time.

Not sure if the new forum rules dictate a minimum post count before you can post pictures on here directly. Before you joined us, we were getting hit hard with spammers all the time and I think one of the fixes was to restrict certain features until a certain post count was achieved.

In the meantime, a photobucket account should do the trick though you might still need a moderator approval which we are usually prompt in handling.

Here is a pic of mine from this weekend. Ghost riding slalom skier!!!
After 10+ years, I am finally back on a ski. The conditions weren't smooth enough to get out and play much, but I ***FINALLY*** got my technique right and got back out on a ski. I like how in the pic, our red/white rope literally disappeared and it looks like I am skiing without a rope!

Waterskiing, surfboarding and similar activities
No person shall operate a boat for the purpose of towing a person on water skis, surfboard or similar device, and no person shall engage in waterskiing, surfboarding or similar activity at any time after sunset and before sunrise.

LOL at "surfboarding".

So, technically when the sun set at 7:30pm we aren't supposed to take one last surf set...

And of course we wouldn't push the limits...

However, we were riding in the Columbia River. So literally a couple hundred yards north of where we were riding is WASHINGTON. There is actually a state line that is in the river (not necessarily the center of the river either).

The WA law says:

RCW 79A.60.170
Water skiing safety — Requirements.

(5) No person shall engage or attempt to engage in water skiing, or operate any vessel to tow a water skier, on the waters of Washington state during the period from one hour after sunset until one hour prior to sunrise. A violation of this subsection is a misdemeanor, punishable as provided under RCW 9.92.030.

So I would say that since OR and WA laws conflict that I should get the benefit of the doubt when boating on a river that is on the state line...

Here is a map of where we ride at. The red circle is one of our spots (where we were last night), and the pink circle is another area we frequent. As you can see, those two areas are pretty obviously on the Oregon side of the state line. But a lot of areas would not be as clear cut...

The river I ride on is the state border. MN and WI have slightly different boating laws. The river itself has its own set of rules but it does not address water skiing. We have been told that they will enforce whatever set of regulations apply to the state where your boat is registered.

That is an interesting approach. In this case the WA laws for when you have to quit riding are more lenient and that's where my boat is registered and where I have my boater's license from...

It also makes me think about this scenario... I don't smoke anything personally, but we all know that WA recently legalized pot. Wouldn't that be an interesting situation when it's legal in one state and not the other? I remember on the 5th of july there was a huge party camping on Government Island (in the middle of the columbia river, only accessible by boat). I could tell plenty of them were smoking it up. Technically Govt. Island is 100% on the Oregon side, but most people don't know one way or the other (or care). Just interesting stuff to think about.

Unfortunately it would depend on the guy pulling you over... cost guards sheriff state cop or local cop and which state they were from... MY experiences have been that the stricter of the two rulings would be the one they enforce not the more lenient.... either way its a big risk not for what you are doing but how well blind old fishermen running up the river to get home can see! once nav light come on we try to be done just because we don't trust others to look out for us!

Yeah, when we were in that "gray area" we were the only ones that were really running on that stretch of water. Of course, it's always helpful to have the speaker LED's and the tower lights!

Cool wave Trayson!

Here's a few pics I took with my GoPro while wakeboarding last Friday night.

Thanks.

How do you have the gopro mounted to get shots like that???

Used the "handlebar" mount and just clamped it to the end of my handle.

That makes a ton of sense. I guess I'd worry about the cam on the handle when the rope was dropped and bouncing and dragging in the water... seems like the handle gets a lot of abuse!

I used it slaloming and fell at 32 mph without it coming off, but still, I have the floaty backdoor on it. Also, I instruct anyone driving my boat that once someone falls, you slow down to idle and never go faster than that all the way back to the rider/skier.

Makes sense. Heck, that's a good rule of thumb anyway! It sure is that way for me when I'm sacked out in Surf Mode!!!

I think I'm going to have to try that. I have a handlebar mount for my contour that I should try!

Your first issue is wiping out in the first place. Address this issue and no worries about the GoPro skipping off the water with the handle.:p

Jetlink this goes back to what I was telling you earlier today, not enough practice time!

How are you getting the still 'action' shots with the GoPro - timer or video pulls?

Brr. I guess the Columbia was warmer. I had my wetsuit shorts and the jacket and was still chilly. Was wearing my hoodie on the boat. I hate fall!

That sucks. I pulled my cover off this morning and it was like a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Frozen stiff! Afraid boating is done for me. Time for the interior redo!

It's been hard to remember to take pics lately. Don't know why. So anyway, I don't have much to share, but here's a video of my kid's friend doing some boarding.
