Has anyone purchased a industrial sewing machine for interior work??

Found a nice NAKAJIMA 280L machine for sale locally. Wondering if anyone has ever thought of or understands the basics of seting up a machine. I have 3-4 projects which need some interior work and thought I could teach myself and have some fun doing it.

My wife works at a boat canvas shop. They use Con sew machines. I just bought her a used Con sew and built her a sewing table . Its 20' by 8' with the machine built into the corner. The biggest factor for us was it had to have a walking foot. Its very hard to sew large panels without it.
